Bird Lookout

Bird Lookout is an exposed beach break on the Dominican Republic’s Amber Coast, west of Sosúa and within easy reach of Puerto Plata. Unlike the reef-dominated breaks around nearby Encuentro, Bird Lookout is primarily a beach break, producing both left and right-hand peaks from a mixture of local windswell and North Atlantic groundswell. Northeast swell is the preferred direction, particularly when paired with south-southwest offshore winds.
