Dakar's main city beach break: a wide sand beach just north of the capital that picks up southwest Atlantic swell and offers punchy beach peaks along its length, with a better-protected left off the southern end. It is the centre of Senegalese surfing and the home of the country's surf clubs and the Ndogatt surf rescue charity. Consistent, warm water, and the rare African city beach you can paddle out from a taxi.

Drive north from central Dakar along the Route des Corniches to Yoff. Park on the seafront; several surf clubs are based here.
