The best wave in Ericeira and one of the finest right-hand reef points in Europe. A thick, fast wall runs over a shallow lava reef with a heavy barrel section at the end that breaks in very little water. It needs real size to start working, and everything about it — the entry, the rocks, the crowd, the consequence of a bad wipeout — is set up for experienced surfers only. Strong localism; earn your waves.

Dirt track off the N247 north of Ribeira d'Ilhas, near Ribamar. Park above the bay and scramble down; the jump-off is timed off the rocks on the point.
