La Santa

Also known as La Santa Lanzarote, The Slab

Expert Reef break Rock bottom Peels left 1–3.5 m Mid tide

A collection of serious volcanic reef breaks outside the fishing village of La Santa, including fast lefts and heavy slab sections. Atlantic north-west swell can create high-quality waves, but entries, exits and wipeouts are over sharp lava reef. This is a spot for experienced surfers who know the conditions and lineup.

Getting there

Check the relevant reef from shore near La Santa harbour and watch local surfers' entry route. Never enter without identifying a safe exit; reef exposure changes greatly with tide and size.
