The world's best-known Arctic surf spot: a small bay on the Lofoten archipelago that catches north-Atlantic groundswell rolling straight out of the open Norwegian Sea, producing a clean right over a cobble-and-sand bottom inside the bay and heavier reef peaks outside. The water sits a few degrees above freezing year-round and the season is autumn and winter — the midnight-sun summer is mostly flat. Surfing here means a 6mm suit, hood, boots and gloves, and it has its own cold-water surf camp that has run for over a decade.
