Britain's best reef break: a shallow, fast right (with a mean left) that breaks off the harbour wall over a flat reef and holds size to double overhead when the beach breaks are closing out. It is heavy, technical and unforgiving — the wave jacks on a shallow ledge and finishes over dry reef, and it has injured experienced surfers. On a big clean southwest swell with offshore wind it is one of the best waves in the country, but it is not a beginner spot, ever.
