Morocco's most famous wave and one of the best right-hand points in the Atlantic: a long, peeling, sometimes-barrelling right over a rock-and-boulder ledge that runs for 200+ metres on a solid northwest swell. It is the centrepiece of the Taghazout surf scene that has drawn travelling surfers since the 1960s. Crowds are heavy when it's on, and the line-up is hierarchical, but the wave itself is genuinely world class on its day.

Getting there
Park on the coast road 3 km north of Taghazout village and walk down the cliff path to the cove. The main peak is just off the rock shelf to the north of the cove.
