One of the heaviest waves on the planet: a deep-water slab that detonates against the Tasman Peninsula cliffs, producing steps (double-up ledges) mid-face that have ended careers. Only ridden on the biggest Antarctic swells by the world's best big-wave surfers, and reached by a two-hour bushwalk or jet ski. Not a wave to surf — a wave to survive.
