A sandy bay on Tenerife's south-east coast with several beach-break peaks and regular trade winds. The open beach is more forgiving than the island's lava reefs and can suit progressing surfers when the wind and swell are manageable. It is also a major windsurfing and kitesurfing centre, so sharing the water and launch zones matters.

Getting there
Use the seafront parking and check designated swimming and wind-sports areas before entering. Trade winds can quickly make the beach unsuitable for inexperienced surfers.
