Xichong Beach

Shenzhen's main surf beach: a long, exposed stretch of sand on the southern tip of the Dapeng Peninsula, east of the city. Shifting beach-break peaks pick up northeast monsoon windswell and summer typhoon swells; usually small and manageable but with genuine power on typhoon pulses. The centre of Guangdong's growing surf scene, with surf schools and rentals along the strip.
